Thankful Thursday (ready for spring)

This last week we had beautiful weather. I've been forced out of this winter coma and reminded how I would rather be working on a project than sitting at my computer. Don't get me wrong I adore blogging, but only because it lets me share what I love doing and it has given some sort of "schedule and purpose" to my days.

I love being covered in dust from a hard day being productive on a project. Or having paint covering my jeans because I'm the messiest painter no matter the size of the project. I'm so glad I don't have to bundle up just to walk across our yard to the studio. I'm so thankful for the warmth the sun provides. Here's a cheesy line but I think it rings true today, this warmth has literally warmed me inside and out. Pushing me to be productive with my days and reminding me of goals.

Man the sun works wonders!

It also makes beautiful things like these babies appear! I'm ready to fill our yard with color and enjoy it all day long!

Also, bragging wife here, perk of your hubs working on 5,000 acres is he gets to bring home amazing flowers :)

Man the sun is the best!! Hurry up spring!

What are y'all thankful for this week??

Thankful thursday -no Internet

Whelp, we have no internet.
Yep we ran out for the month and we only have one more day until our bill resets. So here is to being thankful for days that force me out side and in to the studio! Plus it doesn't hurt that the hubs is "working from home" today too. The studio is rocking with good music, fun power tools, and even better company!
Hope you guys are having a beautifully productive day too! Talk with ya tomorrow :)

A thankful Snow Day!

Goodness gracious the south has been hit again with snow!! Snow is such a big deal in good ole South Carolina, I mean seriously we shut down. Even Walmart and mcdonalds, that means its serious now.

As hard as it is to get through this Snowpocalypse  I am SO thankful that I have a husband that has all the tools to keep us happy. And unbelievably thankful for the snow being more beautiful than dangerous! No Ice yet and I hope it never makes it  :)

Here are some pictures from our two days of snow!  Hope y'all are all safe and warm this Thursday!!

Tomorrow is supposed to bring more snow and ice. As beautiful as it is we are ready for some warm weather, why don't we get snow days in the summer?? :)

Ps> sorry for the short post we are enjoying the Olympics and I'm a bit distracted :) what have y'all been watching most??

Thankful Thursday (Polar Vortex edition!)

I don't know about y'all but here in the South we got hit with some "crazy" weather. Ya know some ice and about an inch or more of snow :) It was so great to see the beauty of the snow but to be honest we don't do winter weather well in the south. I'm kinda ready for the temp to come back up but am thankful for that crunch of the snow too!

Now if you are just joining me the Thankful Project is something I've been doing myself for over a year now. Basically I realized that I wasn't appreciating the blessings in life and I wanted my heart to see all that was surrounding me. This project is a daily deal for me. I look for something every day, big or small, that I don't typically appreciate. Sometimes it is something simple like hot water, and other days its more elaborate like a new tool/toy/clothes.

I started this project as something I wanted to include you all in this year. I would love for you to join me in noticing more of the blessings poured out each day. I've chosen Instagram as my place to share my blessings and created the hashtag KTAthankful. You can join me anyway you like, social media or not!

So real quickly here are some of my blessings this week!
1. A beautifully snow covered yard and the cutest little studio any artist would be proud to own :)
2. My favorite little puppy and our fun jackets playing in the snow.
3. The chance to play with a new medium, and take another "business venture"!! (Come check out a new jewelry line I'm part of, Bohemian-ish
4. Breaking out the welder and teaching the hubs how it's done!

This week was super fun, so much has happened and it was all so unique and made me realized how blessed I am to be a creative person!

Come share what you where blessed with this week! Link up your Instagram, or any social media that you are sharing your version of the Thankful Project!!

Thankful For The Random-ness

Almost the end of January. Thursday marks the 23rd day of 2014. Its a weird feeling cause I feel like it should be a higher number, but also feel like January is flying by. I know that doesn't really make sense but I can't help it, thats how it feels to me (Jack) :)

Thankful Thursday #2

Holy Moses it is already the middle of January, who told 2014 it could go by so quickly??
Well, despite 2014s quick start I am so happy to see so many of you sticking to your goals and resolutions. I know I didn't last long on a few but have really stuck to a couple pretty good.

But really the biggest thing for me this year is to continue to teach myself to be thankful.
I hope you join me in this project, a couple of you have and I LOVE seeing the different daily blessings from each of you :)

Now that this is the first week where others have joined in the project I thought we could start doing some round ups. So first this is what I've been learning from the Thankful Project this week:

1. Being productive is inspiring. Cheesy yes. But man getting up and doing things like cleaning the house, getting dinner ready really makes the whole day seem worth it some times. Thankful for the ability to have time to do this.
2. I worked in my studio/shop a lot this week. Not only did I FINALLY get it organized but I realized that I've been so blessed with each tool in there. I've worked really hard to purchase a few but most of them are hand-me-downs and that is HUGE. So thankful for those tools.
3. Again, working in the studio/shop I was thinking about how God blesses us with the small things so we can appreciate what He hands us later. Working on a refurb project was so frustrating not having the tool I wanted. But I realized the tool I was using, and my little studio space is just the first small step in God trusting me. Thankful for His goodness!

Here are a few posts from some of you fabulous peeps joining me in this journey!

4. Alecia has a goal to visit each and every state park in South Carolina. (talk about a rad goal right?!) She has shared loads of pictures from her visits and they are all stunning!
5. Stephanie was super appreciative of the small things (like rain) that may be annoying but when you really stop are so important to our life.
6. Sara joined us and shared the perfect quote for this project:
"You can rewire your brain to be happy by simply recalling 3 things
you're grateful for every day for 21 days"

I love that she shared this because that is EXACTLY what I am hoping to do. I want to rewire my way of thinking to be a constant feed of nothing but thankful thoughts :)

Now join me this week by linking up to the Instagram Hop below! This way you can follow and get inspired by some of the other peeps involved with the Thankful Project. Instagram is a great tool to use in building inspiration and friendships and I hope you all decide to get to know each other while "rewiring" your brain to be a little more thankful these days :)

PS> don't forget to use #KTAthankful so we can see what you are up to!

Thankful Thursday #1

Thursday is here!! So for the first week of my new blogging schedule I'm pretty happy with how it's going. I've been able to get most posts written a day or two a head of time, seen more readers visit me, and it has given me more to do :)

Now lets talk about this Thankful Project again.
Last week I shared a quick introduction over here
Check it out if you missed it.

But here is another real quick overview:

1. this is a 365 day challenge. Yes I want you to be Thankful for something each day!
(but if posting a picture everyday is a little scary just try your hardest to be thankful for the little things and share when you can! And I know it is now the second week of January but it's ok we don't mind if you come in late)

2. Join the fun by using #KTAthankful  via Instagram (or Twitter)

3. What does KTAthankful stand for? Well it's Kitchen Table Art - Thankful in hashtag form :)

4. Each Thursday I will host a link up where we can meet new Instagrammers and support each other in this Thankful journey!

Here's a quick screenshot of some of the posts already shared this year, and you can see the hashtag already has 456 photos, so come join the fun :) No need to be a photographer we enjoy taking a peak in to your precious life just the way it is, nothing fancy needed!

Can't wait to see what YOU are thankful for!

There are just a few things I ask of you who link up:
- check out and follow your hostess (me)
- visit at least 3 other people and follow them too :)
