Canvas Wall Hanging

I wanted to share our bedroom but it isn't completely finished.
Hopefully, I will be able to show yall next week after our trip home!
But, I'm too excited to not show yall what I made to put above our bed.

Soooo, we had a bunch of canvas that I bought a long time ago.
I was planning to make pillows with it but after I found those amazing pillows on sale I no longer had room for more pillows (according to Reed).
I knew I wanted something to go above our bed.
But it was really frustrating because our bed isn't centered on the wall.
Our room is so tiny that if the bed wasn't pushed up against the wall the door would hit it.
And I also knew I wanted some kind of a reminder of our vows.
My original plan was to do a pallet paintings with our vows.
But that would have made everything look off center and I couldn't do that.
So, with all of that canvas and my new Tee Juice markers I decided to try something out.

First. I cut the canvas to the appropriate size to fit above the bed.
Then I rearranged our vows and edited them down a little to make sure that everything could fit.

I then used the fabulous Tee Juice markers I got online to write out the vows.
These markers are amazing. They make writing on fabric SO easy!!

Here are our vows edited and then pieced together.

And finally, I knew I wanted something other than just a paragraph hanging above our bed.
I was beginning to think about our vows and what we were really promising with them. I realized that we were saying we will constantly show and act out our love for one another and the Lord.
Then I heard the John Mayer song "Love is a Verb" and knew it was perfect.
I then used some of my craft paint and free handed that across the canvas.

Now that it is hung above our bed, it is a constant reminder of what we promised each other about 3 1/2  weeks ago. That love is a verb, it isn't just a word but something you work on.

"I promise to be the helper God intended
I will cherish you
I will follow you as you follow Christ.
I will lead you and guide you as Christ leads me
I will cover you in prayer
I will be slow to anger and quick to listen
I will speak words of kindness not criticism
I will love you and be faithful to you until God calls us home"

House Tour: Room 1

Alright, we have been officially in the house for 2 weeks and married only 3 weeks!
It has been SO FUN!! I love having friends over to our house.
Sitting on our sofa watching TV.
Not having to go home at the end of the day.
It has all just been so great. I know everyone says the real world will hit us soon.
But I'm just looking forward to the years ahead.
I love my new roommate :)

Alright, this is our first house tour!!
This is our living rooooommmmm!
It is a pretty small room only 12x16 so I was really worried about fitting everything in.
Luckily my mom loaned us the chair and love seat.
I'm pretty sure it was at one time porch furniture.
But I love it and it fits pretty perfectly in our tiny house :)
We also got that sofa for a pretty sweet deal off Craigslist for $100 bucks!
Its a queen pull out and the microfiber has only one little stain on the back of a cushion.
Finding this furniture was such a blessing.

This is the other corner of the living room.
Yes the glorious TV!
Reed and I received this fabulous TV as a wedding present along with the blue-ray player.
Of course Reed wanted bigger but our room (and me) would only allow for a 42 inch.
I think it fits perfectly!!
The TV stand is actually something that my dad had left over from when he owned a hardware store.
It was a rack used to display cast iron skillets.
Yep, just basic wooden sides with 2 gridded selves.
The shelves can easily be moved to different levels.
Of course meaning we had to put the raccoon on the bottom shelf :)

The image on the right is a painting that my grandmother did.
I had it in my last apartment and hopefully my mom will let me keep it forever!

Now for some detail shots.
These are all of the pillows that we have around the living room.
I was planning to make my own pillows out of canvas and just paint them but
I was lucky enough to find all of these at great deals!
The 2 brightly colored smaller pillows I found at a local consignment store for $8 a piece!
And the 3 larger ones I got on redtag clearance at Belk!
Reed was getting frustrated with all of my pillow purchases but I think they are perfect for the room.
And he should be happy that I got them all for great prices. :)

Annnnd finally our trinket stand!
We both have a lot of things we want to show off.
Reed has his animals, I have my artwork.
I've tried my hardest to incorporate them both in a some what cohesive manner.
This bookcase was one Reed had and really didn't want to part with.
At first I had no idea what we would fill it with or where we would put it,
but I am so glad that he made me keep it.
Because now we have a perfect spot in the living room to display some of our favorite trinkets and gifts we have received over the years.

I've shown these images before but I thought it appropriate
to share them now that the room is finished :)

Just a quick reminder. This is a piece of fencing that Reed and I got at Lowes.
Check out how we built it here.

And this is the display over the sofa.
I explain the significance of each piece on this post if your interested.

We are both so happy with how our little living room has turned out.
We spend a lot of time hanging out in it.
Finally it has started feel like OUR house :)

*PS> Reed has 2 more duck mounts coming in the next month or so. Help me figure out where would be good to add in TWO MORE animals!!

Clemson Scarf!

Late last night I decided to try another project with my Tee Juice markers.
They are totally awesome and I am SO glad I got a crazy deal on Amazon :)
Yall will be seeing a lot of them from now on!!

First, I have made scarves before and I actually just completed one for an Etsy customer
 when my markers came in.
I messed around with my markers but was going to wait until I got an order to make another scarf.
Then I went to work and sold so many scarves that I decided I just needed to get it out there and hopefully someone would fall in love with it.
And if not I'm wearing it to football games :)

Here are some pictures

I wanted to do something that was related to football & going back to school,
so I took the lyrics from my Alma mater (Clemson University).

"Where the Blue Ridge yawns its greatness,
Where the Tigers play,
Here the sons of dear old Clemson
Reign supreme alway."

The pictures aren't very good at all.
But they are the best I could do at home alone with an old point and shoot.
I'm still trying to get funds to buy a DSLR...

Anyway I love the way the scarf turned out, as much as I would love someone to purchase it
I would be sad to see it go!

Honeymoon 2

This is going to be all about our snorkeling trip!
We payed $40 each and got a half day of snorkeling at 2 spots (left at 8 am and got back at 1pm).
This was by far both of our favorite parts on our trip :)
The guide told us to bring bananas and water bottles filled with bread to feed the fish.
Our group was small, only about 8 of us.
We met some really awesome friends.

It was crazy how many connections we had with this other couple on their honeymoon.
They are from Bozeman Montana.
(Reeds parents have lots of connections there and we are wanting to go visit ASAP).
They are missionaries.
(Reeds parents are missionaries!)
The hubby went to school to get his BFA (Bachelors of Fine Arts)
And he focused in sculpture!
(ME TOO!!)
So, basically it was great to have them there for our excursion.
We had a lot to talk about :)

Now here are the pictures! I'm going to try and add some videos. They are my favorite parts so I hope I can figure out how to upload them!

Our guide enjoyed our camera and took lots of pictures of us.

Our guide! He referred to him self as the "black shark"

 Feeding the fish!

Our friends from MT!!

Everyone was impressed by Reeds swimming skills. He was constantly going!

Reed swam around like a fish. Even stood on the bottom

The crew heading to the second spot.

This is me feeding the fish some bread!
I'm gonna be honest. I got a little freaked out, that was a lot of fish!

This is basically what Reed did the entire time.
Our guide decided it would be cool to do a video of Reed swimming through the coral.

Hopefully these pictures show yall why we loved the snorkeling so much!
We really had a great time and filled up an entire memory card of images and videos from the excursion!

Thanks Philip and Carla for the awesome camera!! We wouldn't be able to share any of this if it wasn't for yall!

PS> Don't forget about the giveaway!
